Fiery Grilled Things

kfc_rebrand.gif KFC is now selling chunks of grilled chicken and calling them wings. It was bad enough when a chain somewhere like Applebee’s, or Chili’s started dipping chicken nuggets in hot sauce and calling them “boneless chicken wings.” Beware wings of the world, every piece of chicken wants to be you.

Go here for a coupon to get 30 of KFC’s New Fiery Grilled Wings for $19.99.

You can send a “sort-of-friend” one of these cool Holiday cards from Burger King, which will include a dollar! This would make a friend out of me!

Coffee To Go!

I spotted two new different kind of drive-thrus yesterday as I was driving around Memphis. There is a new Dunkin’ Doughnuts on Whitten near Macon, and the recently closed Highpoint Coffee at the corner of Poplar and Perkins has resurfaced as Poplar Perk’n. Irresistible name! Can’t wait to try these while I’m out doing my Christmas shopping.

Junior! The Wendy's Guy

If I ever visit Austin, I’m definitely going to the UT campus Wendy’s.

Junior is a Wendy’s fast food cashier on a university campus that loves his job and it shows. He’s legendary with the students there, and he’s so fast, he ‘puts the fast in fast food’, as he says it.. You know how fast food cashiers get portrayed in movies as incompetent slackers? Well, you’ll forget about all of that once you see this documentary. Watching this is motivating on so many levels.

I love the bit where multiple students walk up and order their own ‘usual’ (which is different for each student) and he doesn’t miss a beat. Even though I’ve never met him, Junior is now my favorite cashier. (Favorite cashier I have met: Mr. Paul at the Taco Bell at Poplar and Estate in Memphis.)
